Ryan loves Robots. He couldn't decide between R2D2, Transformers or Wall E so we went with a basic robot theme for his 5th birthday. I REALLY wanted a robot cookie cutter and couldn't find one I liked. I spent 2 hours bending 2 old cookie cutters into the shape of a robot. I made cookies for favors and cookies for the kids to decorate. They had frosting and all kinds of candy and sprinkles. They loved it. We also had marshmallows, pretzel sticks and food markers to make edible robots. We had a robot mask making craft, and robot cutouts to color and glue. The game was all Ryan's idea. We made a cardboard costume and bought a toy robot arm. The kids took turns dressing up and using the arm to pick up candy from a bucket. I made a Robot cupcake "cake" from the What's New Cupcake book, and robot brownie pops from Bakerella's Cake Pops book. They both came out really cute. I also made a fruit salad robot and searched 2 candy stores for all the candy I could find that looked like wires or other robot parts. The favors were pretty much made from our recycling bin. They were tin cans with all kids of screws, nuts, bolts and any other stuff we found in the garage. We hot glued it all together. Inside had robot stickers, robot suckers, iced robot cookies and a wind up robot. Everyone had a great time and Ryan loved it. Now to work on a theme for next year :)
